You will be collected from your accommodation in our air-conditioned vehicle by your local knowledgeable guide. Your tour commences at the water’s edge, Marlin Marina, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Throughout the afternoon, you will discover our vibrant city history and rich cultural heritage that is unique to the far north. Step inside one of the most breathtaking cathedrals in all of Australia, St. Monica’s, which features the world’s largest themed stained glass windows. There are 24 windows (12 along each side) depicting the story of creation.
Visit the Cairns Museum, housed in the renovated School of Arts building and enjoy an exclusive 20 minute guided tour and hear the amazing stories of our history of tropical life told through the lives of locals and Cairns Traditional owners. Free re-entry included during your stay in Cairns.
Enjoy a delicious afternoon tea at a local Cafe, Noa’s in Edge Hill, a beautiful leafy suburb of Cairns before a guided walk through the Cairns Flecker Botanic Gardens, which is renowned for having one of the best exhibitions of tropical plants in Australia. Meander through the butterfly lined pathways under the green canopy as your guide explains the various plants you see along the way.
You will have a photo opportunity at Cairns best scenic lookout and take in the stunning views of our city, the mountains and the Great Barrier Reef. Your afternoon of exploring continues with a visit to the Lower Barron Falls. Enjoy a walk at the lower section of the Barron Gorge National Park, Surprise Creek Falls.
We continue further north to stunning Palm Cove, which is lined with Paperback Trees that are hundreds of years old. Stroll to the end of the jetty, where you will enjoy the breathtaking beach setting and natural surroundings. After the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to your hotel.
Optional Extra – Sunset Dinner Cruise
Complete your day with a spectacular sunset dinner cruise onboard the Spirit of Cairns. Sail through the calm waters of the Trinity Inlet for an evening of dining, entertainment, and panoramic views. (make own way to accommodation after dinner cruise)
