Snorkelling & Glass Bottom Boat
You can snorkel straight off the beach and discover amazing marine life and sea turtles, or simply sit back and soak up the serenity on the sandy shores of the famous Nudey Beach – voted the best beach in Australia. Our glass bottom boat tours are another great way to discover the fascinating marine life around the island. Both these options are included in the "Full Day Tour" or can be purchased as add-ons to your ferry ticket.
Snorkel Safari
Hop on for a trip to a snorkelling location, only available by boat; just off the island and over some of the most diverse reef in the world. Here our team will give you free time to snorkel the majestic reef, away from other tourists. The Safari is 1 hour inclusive of a briefing session, with approximately 35 minutes of actual snoreklling time in the water. This tour is not suitable for non swimmers. Snorkel hire will be included during the duration of the Safari.
Buffet Lunch

Kayak Tour
Join a kayak tour and paddle into adventure straight from the beach, an exciting add-on to your time at Fitzroy Island! This tour is 45 minutes total duration. Double and Single kayaks will be allocated by the tour leader. When ready, paddle straight from the beach and into the sea, with the stunning landscapes of the island appearing in your wake. Witness the beauty of the island from your kayak, taking in the sight of the dense rainforest that make up over 99% of the island, and hone your newfound kayaking skills.
Participants need to be able to swim to join, with moderate fitness capabilities.
Turtle Talk
At the island HQ of volunteer organisation Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre, sick and injured turtles are nursed back to health from a variety of accidents and illnesses. Your tour leader provides an informative presentation about different breeds of turtles in the area and discusses common hazards and hardships for turtles who end up in their care. There are generally several turtles in care at the centre, however only the front enclosure may be viewed if deemed suitable and safe by visitors, due to the fragile nature of their health. The turtles are cared for by volunteers and the hope is to rehabilitate them to be released back into the wild when returned to good health.
All ticket revenue is donated back to the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.
Nature Walk
The Nature Walk is guided, your tour leader is excited to share insight about the unique rainforest landscapes and its inhabitants. During the walk, you will have the chance to see close-up some of the incredible vegetation found on Fitzroy Island. Visitors are surprised to hear the wildlife that call Fitzroy Island home and learn some historical uses of the plants. This tour is suitable for all ages and is low intensity. The pathways walked are comfortable walking. This additional tour is perfect for nature lovers and novices alike, a great opportunity to learn more about the land you are exploring.
Rainforest Walk
Enjoy a guided 45 minute walk to the spectacular "Secret Garden" rainforest area. Learn about the islands history, flora and fauna from our expert guide. Moderate fitness required and light refreshments provided.

With a range of included activities and exclusive use of our custom-designed floating pontoon, all ages and abilities can explore and enjoy the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef. With clear water, colourful coral, abundant fish life and friendly resident turtles and Maori wrasse, Moore Reef is the ultimate destination to experience all that the outer reef has to offer.
Swimmers of all abilities can snorkel in the natural lagoon or stay dry with our semi-submersible and glass bottom boat tours. You can also visit our underwater observatory to discover the world’s most impressive natural fish tank and get up close and personal with marine life in our touch tank presentations. Young kids can have fun in our enclosed ocean pool or swirl down our 30-metre spiralling waterslide into the tropical ocean. A trained lifeguard is always on watch from an elevated lifeguard station, and there’s easy entry to the water from two snorkel platforms, both of which are accessible by stairs.
