Overview
Enjoy the iconic Kuranda Skyrail and Scenic Rail adventure in Far North Queensland. Your morning begins with a hotel pick-up, followed by check-in and receiving your Kuranda Boarding Pass, which includes a detailed itinerary and all necessary tickets.
Board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway at 9.45am for a memorable journey above and through the world's oldest continually surviving tropical rainforest. There are two mid-journey stops for you to disembark and explore the lush rainforest environment.
On arrival in Kuranda, take advantage of free time to discover this unique village. Explore local cafés and restaurants for a meal or use your Boarding Pass for discounted entry to select attractions. Wander the daily Heritage Markets, which feature a variety of local souvenirs, art, crafts, jewellery, and clothing.
When it's time to return, head to Kuranda Station and board the 3.30pm Kuranda Scenic Rail. Sit back and relax as the railway winds through spectacular waterfalls and the stunning Barron Gorge to Freshwater Station, where your coach awaits to transfer you back to your hotel. Travelling before Monday 2nd November 2026?Skyrail will be operating a loop experience between Kuranda Terminal and Barron Falls from 19th August to 1st November (5 days a week, Wednesday-Sunday, boarding between 10:00 and 15:30) as part of Stage 1 of our upgrade project. This experience will last for approximately 1 hour, including time at Barron Falls Station, where guests will be able to enjoy the following activities and experiences: Ranger Guided Tours, Interpretive Displays, The Edge Lookout, Historical Precinct and Audio Guide App. As a bonus inclusion all Down Under Tours passengers will receive complimentary entry to Kuranda Birdworld or the Kuranda Koala Gardens during this upgrade period.
